Gay Dads to Be Featured on Netflix's Upcoming 'She-Ra' Reboot

Hurrah for She-Ra! Netflix's reboot of the popular 80s show includes two gay dads.

During New York Comic Con earlier this month, the case of Netflix's reboot of "She-Ra and the Princesses of Power" revealed that the character of Bow will have two gay dads.

The secret was revealed after Aimee Carrero, who voices She-Ra, was asked who were favorite characters on the upcoming show were, and she responded "Bow's dads."

Marcus Scribner, who voices the character of Bow, added: "It's not some topical thing that really needs to be discussed, it just is. Bow has two dads. I feel like [She-Ra] just reflects a lot of modern families and things that are going on in the world around us. I don't want to talk too much about their personality types and how they each factor in, because that was a bit of a Comic Con spoiler alert session, but it's definitely super cool. … Just know that they play an integral role in a couple scenarios."

As reported by Into, animated series have become increasingly LGBTQ friendly in recent years, with shows like The Legend of Korra, Steven Universe, and Voltron: Legendary Defender all featuring queer characters. And gay dads in particular are popping up in television shows of all varieties. We're happy to see She-Ra added to the list! The show debuts on Netflix on November 17th, be sure to check out the teaser promo video below:

Male Penguins at Australian Aquarium Given Foster Egg to Raise

Staff at the Sea Life Sydney Aquarium began to suspect that the penguins, Magic and Sphen, were bonding earlier this year when they started bowing to each other.

And now for your daily does of awwww.... Staff at a Sydney aquarium have provided two male gentoos penguins with a foster egg for the couple to rear.

Staff at the Sea Life Sydney Aquarium began to suspect that the penguins, Magic and Sphen, were bonding earlier this year.

"We'd go over there and Magic and Spehn would be bowing to each other," said Tish Hannan, one of the aquariums keepers, according to ABC. Tish added that bowing is a way for gentoo penguins to say they love each other, "which is super cute."

The penguins were first given a "dummy" egg so they could practice their parenting skills. "They immediately knew exactly what it was and started incubating it," Tish said.

Interestingly, gentoo penguins split parenting responsibilities equally between the sexes. "We're not going to need to step in just because they're males," she said.

How to Get Your Little Ones to Eat (and Enjoy!) Their Vegetables

Meet David and Danny fathers and founders of Kekoa Foods sharing some tips on how to keep your little ones eating their healthy vegetables during the hecticness of the holidays.

Watch:

Tip Number 1 – Try to prepare your own meals with fresh ingredients. Doing so gives you better control over the amount of sugar, sodium and cholesterol you and your family consume.

Tip Number 2 – Experiment in your kitchen with herbs and spices you haven't used before. Some items we've added in recent years include cumin, tarragon, curry, turmeric and ginger. Start slowly, though, you can always add more next time.

Tip Number 3 – Use veggies instead of pasta to get more veggies in your diet. We like spaghetti squash, zucchini and beets for this purpose and toss them with our favorite sauce.

Tip Number 4 – Instead of adding cream to veggie dishes to get your kids to eat them, sprinkle them with just a touch of parmesan cheese and add fresh lemon juice. It enhances flavor without adding a significant amount of cholesterol or fat.

When thinking about having kids via surrogacy, the legal part is just as important as the IVF process itself. Making sure that the agreements with the surrogate and the egg donor are set up properly is a solid base for the whole process itself. And then there are issues like legal guardianship and birth certificates that are also crucial for finishing the process with babies that are completely, legally yours.
