I am thankful for so many things this year. While I wouldn't typically share these feelings so openly, this year I am compelled not only to read what others are thankful for, but also to add to the conversation myself.
I am thankful for my husband, for without his unwavering love, steady support and trusted guidance I would not have realized my most important lifelong dreams of fatherhood and building a career fueled by my passion.
For my kids, who have the ability to put a smile on my face, wipe away a frown or dry up tears with a simple hug, kiss or other small gesture. They have given my life meaning and importance.
For my parents, who inspire me to be the best I can be simply by trying to live up to the image I know they have of me. No pressure, just unconditional love.
For the ever-growing community of gay dads I've met over the past two+ years through Gays With Kids. I value the friendships and camaraderie. I'm incredibly moved and truly inspired by your stories of resilience and persistence; your acts of courage, kindness and love; your willingness to make and be the difference in your communities; and your strength to live your lives openly and proudly.
