Dolly Parton Launches Weekly Children's Book Reading Series

Dolly Parton, everyone's favorite LGBTQ country icon, has given us yet another reason to love her. Recently, she announced a weekly YouTube series called Goodnight with Dolly that will feature her reading children's stories. In an introductory video, she said she hopes the readings will be "a welcomed distraction during a time of unrest." She announced the series in conjunction with her literacy non profit Imagination Library — a book gifting program that mails free books to children from birth to age five in participating communities within the United States, United Kingdom, Canada, Australia and Republic of Ireland.

In each of the videos that have run so far, Dolly reads from the comfort of her bed, propped up by four enormous white fluffy pillows. Her southern drawl is so soothing — it just may help you get to bed as well. Below are links to the three books she's read so far: The Little Engine That Could, Llama Llama Red Pajama, and a children's book she authored herself Coat of Many Colors.
