Baby hi hi hi! NSYNC star Lance Bass and husband Michael Turchin have officially announced the birth of their twins!
The couple’s daughter Violet Betty and son Alexander James were born via surrogate on Wednesday, October 13th, at St. Joseph Medical Center in Tacoma, Washington.
"The baby dragons have arrived!!" the singer said on Instagram. "I can not express how much love I feel right now. Thank you for all the kind wishes. It meant a lot. Now, how do you change a diaper??! Ahhhhhhhh!”
Alexander James was born first, at 1:24 pm, measuring in at 18.5 inches long and 4 pounds 14 ounces. Violet Betty came into the world one minute later, measuring one inch shorter and three ounces lighter than her brother.
Bass had teased the babies’ pre-Halloween arrival earlier this week, with an Instagram video of himself scaring his husband, captioned “2 more sleeps until BABIES!! #LanceScares”
He also revealed the babies were on their way on Wednesday, writing "Here we go" on his Instagram Story, along with a photo of hospital beds all set up for "Baby A" and "Baby B.”
Bass and Turchin, who have been married since 2014, went through a difficult four years trying to start their family, which included issues finding egg donors, nearly a dozen rounds of IVF, and a surrogate suffering a miscarriage.
The singer first confirmed they were “very excited about becoming a family of four” on June 1st to E! News. Bass said Turchin was especially excited to have twin babies, as he is a twin himself.
"We always knew that if we were going to start a family, we wanted to go for twins just because Michael's a twin--he's a boy/girl twin. And he just loved that experience," Bass previously told People. "I always wanted to have a twin, but we're like, 'Well, that's so perfect because now we can do one of mine, one of yours.' It was a no-brainer!"
