Adopted By You 5K & Fun Run

Gays With Kids blogger Doug Spicer Munster is all too familiar with the high cost of adoption. He and his husband, Doug, adopted their son Sawyer in 2015 and saw firsthand how expensive it can be; how upfront costs of adoption can often delay or prevent adoptions from happening. They realized how fortunate they were to have the means to afford adoption, but their hearts ached for the children waiting and qualified parents yearning to bring them home.

Doug decided he wanted to help adoptive families with the financial support they needed to bring their waiting child home. He discussed this idea with his friend Kecia Tomlin, and she immediately jumped on board. Together, they developed the Adopted By You 5K & Fun Run! They chose to partner with Gift of Adoption (GOA) based on their amazing reputation and success to provide grants to many deserving children and families. (GOA has raised over 5 million dollars for adoptive families in the past 20 years!)

On June 10, 2017, Doug and Kecia will host their inaugural Adopted By You 5K & Fun Run (in partnership with Gift Of Adoption) to support the many children in need of a forever family. Doug, Brent and Kecia plan to host this race annually for many years to come, to continue to help as many families as possible. Their main goal: To create future forever families for many years to come.

In its first year, Adopted By You 5K is on track to make over $25,000 for local Georgia families!

Are you a Georgia local? Make sure to check out this fantastic event! Sign up here, or consider being a supportive bystander for this great cause! It will be held at 585 Cherokee Ave. SE.
